Tensiometers measure surface tension and surface free energy. They are used in academic research and industrial processes to characterize surfaces, liquids and interfaces.

The introduction of Attension means that KSV Instrument’s range of tensiometers is relaunched. KSV Instruments has provided tensiometers since the middle of the 1990’sand has grown to be a significant provider. Through the launch of Attension, Biolin Scientific marks its ambition to become the world leading provider of a full range of tensiometry measurement solutions. Attension and KSV Instruments are brands and product organizations within Biolin Scientific.

Attension is officially launched in conjunction with the American Chemical Society Fall Meeting in Washington DC starting on September 17, 2009. The introduction for customers and distribution partners continues at launch meetings in Shanghai, China on September 14, 2009 (in conjunction with the Asian Chemical Congress) and in Berlin, Germany on September 28, 2009 (in conjunction with the Nanotech Europe conference).

During the upcoming year, Attension will introduce a number of product news. During the autumn 2009, the renewal of the product range continues with the introduction of optical tensiometer Theta Lite. In the beginning of 2010, the new software OneAttension will be introduced. Also during 2010, a hand-held contact angle measurement device for industrial processes will be launched. Furthermore, customers will be able to experience two entirely new concepts: AttensionLab (a global network for tensiometry services) and PayAttension (a unique value offering for investments in tensiometry equipment).
