Chiral Technologies Worldwide Introduces CHIRALPAK® ZWIX

WEST CHESTER, Pa. — Chiral Technologies Worldwide introduces two new immobilized chiral stationary phases (CSPs), CHIRALPAK® ZWIX(+) and CHIRALPAK ZWIX(-). These new ZWIX CSPs are zwitterionic ion exchangers, combining anion- and cation-exchange functional groups. The ZWIX chiral selectors are synthesized by the fusion of the cinchona alkaloids with trans-2-aminocyclohexanesulfonic acid at the C-9 position via carbamate linkage. Both selectors are chemically bonded onto 3-µm silica.

The CHIRALPAK ZWIX(+) and CHIRALPAK ZWIX(-) CSPs can be used in high performance liquid chromatography and supercritical fluid chromatography modes. The ZWIX CSPs have been specifically developed to exhibit stereoselectivity for zwitterionic molecules, notably, for separations of underivatized amino acids and peptides.
