Clemex Technologies Inc. Receives $106,300 From Government of Canada for Commercialization of New Blood Analysis System

LONGUEUIL, QUEBEC – The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, today announced that Clemex Technologies Inc. has been granted $106,300 in repayable funding to carry out a commercialization project.

“Investing in the knowledge economy is a priority for the Government of Canada, which is why we are pleased to support small and mediums-sized enterprises that, like Clemex Technologies, are engaging in research and development,” said Minister Lebel.

The company, which is looking to build its innovation capabilities and expand into new markets, intends to carry out a number of activities within the framework of this project, including prospecting for customers, taking part in conferences and producing advertising materials. The product Clemex Technologies wants to introduce to market is a new system for the analysis of blood smears for hospital laboratories, teaching facilities and private clinics. National Research Council Canada (NRC) contributed $480,000 in funding toward the development of this system.

For the past 20 years, Clemex Technologies has been specializing in the design, manufacture and sale of image analysis systems and software for microscopy research and quality control laboratories. The majority of the company’s customers are in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries.
