CODA Genomics Names Stephen Picataggio to Chief Scientific Officer

CODA Genomics, a synthetic biology company focused on industrial biotechnology and life sciences markets, today announced the appointment of Stephen Picataggio, Ph.D. to the position of Chief Scientific Officer.

Dr. Picataggio brings more than 30 years experience in the metabolic engineering of industrial microorganisms and the development of fermentation processes for the production of fuels and chemicals. He joins at a time when bioindustrial customers are increasing demand for the CODA technology platform.

Prior to joining CODA, Dr. Picataggio served as Vice President of Metabolic Engineering at Synthetic Genomics, Inc. and held various leadership positions at Dupont Central Research & Development, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and Cognis, Inc., formerly Henkel Research Corporation. He is the author of more than 15 academic papers and an inventor on more than 45 issued and pending patents.

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Bacteriology and Public Health from Wagner College and graduated magna cum laude. He received his Ph.D. in microbiology from Rutgers University.
