Complete NMR Software Package Enables Multiple Applications

Peabody, Massachusetts, January 6, 2004 — An NMR software program from JEOL combines spectrometer control and data management into a single, robust application. DeltaTM software is gaining wide acceptance among NMR users by allowing them to perform tasks typically accomplished through the use of multiple programs. To allow for greater flexibility, Delta operates in both WindowsTM and LinuxTM environments.

“Delta improves productivity by unifying NMR data acquisition, processing, visualization, and output into a single application that can be deployed throughout an entire research group, laboratory, university, or company,” said Dr. Douglas Meinhart, National Analytical Laboratory Manager. Delta allows concurrent processing of multiple data sets and simple, seamless operation from data collection to data processing. The program outputs a variety of formats, including postscript, encapsulated postscript, jpg, pdf, and others. Unique Delta functions include Data SlateTM, which links multiple data sets and optional DOSY measurements.

Developed by JEOL USA’s dedicated software team at the company’s U.S. headquarters in Peabody, Massachusetts, Delta is the worldwide standard for all JEOL NMR spectrometers. The software is distributed under a site license. A demonstration copy of Delta can be downloaded at www.jeol.com/nmr/nmr.html.

Since initially introducing Delta in 1993, JEOL has continually added capabilities and upgrades. “Delta brings the power of modern personal computers and software architecture to every NMR user and improves the NMR experience for both novice and advanced users,” said Dr. Meinhart.

JEOL introduced its newest generation of high-resolution NMR spectrometers, the ECA and ECX series, in 2002. The systems are available from 300 to 920MHz and can be expanded to provide high-performance liquid, multiple channel protein, solid-state, and imaging spectroscopy in a single instrument platform.
