Regensdorf, Switzerland; Grandville, MI 3/24/06-Eichholf Holding AG, the parent company of Datacolor AG, has submitted a letter of intent for a competing offer to Amazys Holding AG, the holding company of Gretag Macbeth. Subject to completion of due diligence, Eichholf intends to offer at least CHF 108.80 ($83.15) per share in cash, and at least CHF 5 ($3.82) per share higher than X-Rite’s bid of CHF 77 ($60) plus 2.11 shares of X-Rite per Amazys share (see IBO 1/31/06). In a statement the same day, X-Rite announced it had commenced its tend offer for Amazys, and that “it is fully committed to the completion of the transaction as outlined in the tender offer.”
