Dr. Albert Luderer Joins BioNano Genomics Board of Directors

SAN DIEGO–BioNano Genomics, Inc. has elected Albert Luderer, Ph.D., to its Board of Directors. Dr. Luderer brings to the role more than three decades of experience in biotechnology, with a special emphasis on technology and business development and commercialization. The appointment supports the Company’s ongoing commitment to delivering new technologies that provide researchers with an altogether better way of looking at DNA. Dr. Luderer currently serves as chief executive officer and director of Integrated Diagnostics, a personalized diagnostics company.

“Dr. Luderer’s extensive level of expertise in commercializing laboratory medicine and therapeutic development speaks for itself, and makes him a valuable addition to our board as we commercialize,” said BioNano Genomics President and CEO Dr. R. Erik Holmlin. “We are very pleased that he has joined us.”

Dr. Luderer was previously president and CEO of BioTrove, a venture-backed molecular biological tools company that was acquired by Life Technologies. Previously, Dr. Luderer was CEO of the venture-backed therapeutics company Light Sciences, Inc. and president and COO of bioMérieux, Inc. Previously, he held senior management positions at Dianon Systems (Lab Corp), Boehringer Mannheim (Roche), and Corning. Dr. Luderer holds a Ph.D. from Rutgers University, where he was a National Science Foundation predoctoral fellow, and performed postgraduate work in immunology at Jefferson Medical College.
