Sartorius and TEWS Elektronik sign an exclusive sales and marketing agreement

Systems for moisture and density determination based on microwave resonance technology

Goettingen | Hamburg, Germany, – Sartorius, a leading international laboratory and process technology provider, has signed an agreement on exclusive sales as well as on marketing and servicing of microwave resonance analyzers for the food and pharma industries with the measuring equipment supplier TEWS Elektronik.

Instruments based on microwave resonance technology are used in innumerable manufacturing processes for the food and pharma industries. The range of applications for these instruments includes precise moisture content monitoring and the associated quality assurance and optimization of raw, intermediate and end products. With microwave resonance technology, up to 800 measurements can be performed every second: This guarantees extremely fast and highly accurate measurement of surface and core moisture in solids, even when fluctuations in product quality occur. This moisture has a significant effect on the products’ processability, their microbiological stability and their structural properties. These analyzers can be used “online“; in other words, directly within the production process, and are suitable for both continuous and batch processes. Compared with and supplemental to previous time-consuming laboratory analysis procedures, these analyzers provide highly efficient solutions for many areas of application by enabling production processes to be streamlined promptly as needed.
