Fugro Enters Into an Exclusive Agreement with Carl Zeiss to Jointly Develop and Distribute RoqSCAN

Fugro Robertson today announced that it has signed an exclusive, world-wide development and distribution agreement with Carl Zeiss to develop and distribute RoqSCAN™.

RoqSCAN is a real time, state-of-the-art, fully portable, quantitative and automated rock properties and mineralogical analyser that has been jointly developed by Fugro Robertson and Carl Zeiss for use at the conventional and unconventional oil and gas well site.

The development of RoqSCAN draws upon Fugro Robertson’s 50 years of experience of collecting and analysing geological/mineralogical datasets and being the first major geological consultancy to offer automated mineralogy in a laboratory environment.

This, combined with Carl Zeiss’s reputation as being the leading manufacturer of reliable, portable, field-based nano-technology solutions, makes RoqSCAN a unique total solution to real-time mineralogical/rock properties analysis at the well site.

RoqSCAN offers the customer improved well site efficiency, providing better and safer well management, enhanced positioning of lateral well bores and tactical positioning of artificial fracture stimulation (RoqFRAC), thus helping to reduce overall operational costs.
