Geospiza Releases FinchLab Version 3.2
Customers and Partners Enthusiastically Embrace Next Gen Data Analysis Capabilities
SEATTLE–Geospiza, Inc. today announced the release of FinchLab Version 3.2, the new version of the company’s acclaimed genetic analysis workflow and data management system. This new version of FinchLab provides powerful new analytic capabilities, including secondary analysis for Next Generation Sequencing. FinchLab provides the only software solution to help the research community manage genetic analysis from sample to results.
“Geospiza developed this release of FinchLab to address our customers’ challenges with Next Generation Genetic Analysis,” said Todd Smith, CEO of Geospiza. “FinchLab is the only software application for genetic analysis that includes tightly integrated functionality for laboratory management as well as advanced data management and analytic capabilities out-of-the-box. By offering a comprehensive solution, we jump start critical data analysis to enable our customers to focus on their research and discovery.”
With the rapid customer adoption of FinchLab 3.0 following its launch this spring, it’s clear that customers and partners are enthusiastic about the new product direction that Geospiza has introduced. Michael O. Dorschner, Ph.D., Director of the University of Washington’s High Throughput Sequencing Solutions Laboratory, said, “As we continue to focus on our critical research, we are glad that we can trust Geospiza and FinchLab to help us manage our lab and deliver meaningful information to our collaborators–rather than raw data. This new version also confirms Geospiza’s commitment to support new technologies to help us stay at the forefront of new innovations.”
Next Gen sequencing demands that data collection and analysis be tightly coupled. FinchLab 3.2 integrates data analysis by integrating best of breed algorithms to characterize data sets for experiments such as Tag Profiling. From a single web-based system, Geospiza’s FinchLab helps customers manage their laboratories across multiple genetic analysis technologies, including Capillary and Next Generation Sequencing Instruments from Applied Biosystems, Roche, Illumina and Helicos.
