Hach Company Introduced the CLF10 sc and CLT10 sc

New Reagentless Chlorine Analyzers Feature Automated Diagnostics and Real-Time Control for Disinfection Processes

Loveland, Colo. — Hach Company (www.hach.com) introduced two new reagentless chlorine analyzers, the CLF10 sc and CLT10 sc, for measurement of Free and Total Chlorine, respectively. As integral additions to Hach’s disinfection monitoring product portfolio, the chlorine analyzers can be used for process control where real-time, continuous results are beneficial. Because they are reagentless, they’re ideal for applications where waste stream management or routine reagent replacement is a challenge.

“Hach has over 30 years of disinfection leadership and provides the industry with the best products and application knowledge for chlorine monitoring,” Thomas Mitchell, PhD, Global Product Applications Manager, said. “With the addition of the CLF10 sc and CLT10 sc reagentless analyzers, Hach has the broadest offering of disinfection products, including the market-leading CL17 chlorine analyzer, as well as laboratory colorimeters, spectrophotometers and chemistries. With Hach, plants get the best disinfection solution to meet their operational objectives.”

The CLF10sc and CLT10 sc analyzer highlights include:

Exclusive Self Diagnostics. Using Hach’s algorithm, operators are automatically notified if the instrument needs servicing due to a pH or chlorine calibration deviation or if the process has changed resulting in insufficient sample flow.

No Reagent Replacement, No Waste Stream. Chlorine measurement with an amperometric analyzer, such as the CLF10 sc or CLT10 sc, does not require reagents, eliminating the need for routine reagent replacement and waste stream management.

Real-Time Process Control. The chlorine analyzers allow for real-time control of disinfection processes by providing continuous readings that indicate when treatment conditions have changed.

Compatible with Hach’s “Plug and Play” Digital Controllers. The CLF10 sc and CLT10 sc analyzers can be used with any Hach sc digital controller. Whether measuring turbidity or chlorine, operators only need to learn one controller for all of their water analysis measurement points. Hach sc controllers do not require complicated wiring or setup procedures. Just plug in any Hach digital sensor and it’s ready to use without software configuration.

In accordance with EPA Method 334.0, the CLF10 sc and CLT10 sc analyzers can be used for reporting chlorine residual measurements. Hach has created a suite of laboratory products and methods to help with startup and quality control procedures required in Method 334.0.
