The unique system merges the company’s automated SPE hardware with novel solid phase extraction chemistries into an elegant solution for addressing environmental analysis of semi-volatile compounds in waste and ground water.

Combining its SPE-DEX® 4790 automated solid phase extraction system which accommodates as many as eight 1.0 liter water samples simultaneously, a new Fast Flow Sediment Disk Holder (for processing large volume, particulate laden water samples) along with a newly launched analytical SPE disk for the capture of semi-volatile compounds, Horizon’s new Waste-Water Sample Prep System simplifies the extraction of a broad range of hazardous compounds in waste and ground water matrices. The system provides an efficient alternative to Liquid-Liquid Extraction (LLE) as well as Continuous Liquid Liquid Extraction (CLLE) by reducing total sample prep time and cost while significantly increasing analyte recovery. The system effectively handles ‘dirty’ water samples allowing for ‘whole-sample’ extraction prior to GC/MS analysis for compounds such as Semi-Volatiles, Pesticides, and PCBS along with Hormones, Pharmaceuticals and Personal Care Products.
