Munich, Germany, January 26th, 2009 – ibidi GmbH, a supplier of solutions for BioMicroscopy, announced today a partnership with Seahorse Bioscience, Inc. of Billerica; Main, USA. Under the terms of the agreement ibidi will exclusively distribute the products of Seahorse Bioscience in Germany and Austria. With this partnership ibidi further strengthens its position as a service provider for cell based assays.

Seahorse Bioscience focuses on measuring cellular bioenergetics. The Extracellular Flux (XF) assays non-invasively profiles the metabolic activity of mammalian cells in minutes. Such a physiologic cell based assay can determine the in vitro oxygen consumption, mitochondrial dysfunction, fatty acid oxidation, toxicity, and ATP turnover. The analyzed cells are not influenced by the measurement and can be reused for further experiments.
