Idaho Technology Inc. Launches New Carousel Centrifuge & Workflow Center

Salt Lake City, UT – Idaho Technology Inc. (ITI) announces the launch of two new accessories to the R.A.P.I.D.® LT Food Security System: the Carousel Centrifuge and Workflow Center. These accessories are intended to speed up and simplify the sample handling and setup time for the R.A.P.I.D. LT Food Security System.

The Carousel Centrifuge has been developed for specific use with the R.A.P.I.D. LT Food Security instrument to reduce setup time, diminish user handling and provide greater ease of use. It allows users to more efficiently centrifuge both the bead tubes and capillaries used in the R.A.P.I.D. LT protocols by centrifuging up to two capillary filled instrument rotors or sixteen bead tubes at the same time.

The new Workflow Center is an optional accessory to the R.A.P.I.D. LT Food Security instrument designed to aid users in setting up and handling the bead tubes and capillaries, and eliminating the need for labeling in the setup process. It consists of a set of racks and disks that, when used with the Carousel Centrifuge, decreases setup time, user handling and helps increase sample throughput.

“We are excited to provide our customers with even greater flexibility in using our R.A.P.I.D. LT Food Security System,” states David Nielsen, ITI vice president of Product Development. “We feel that the addition of these new accessories is another significant milestone in our commitment to offer a product that is Easy, Accurate and Timely.”

About the R.A.P.I.D. LT FSS

Built upon LightCycler® technology, the R.A.P.I.D. LT FSS combines rapid air thermocycling and a real-time fluorimeter to reliably identify food and environmental samples. In addition to the instrument, robust freezedried reagents have been designed and optimized to run on this instrument and provide precise results. Because of its sensitivity, accuracy, and high speed, it is the ideal instrument for rapid foodborne pathogen identification and represents a significant improvement over traditional microbiology tests that currently require 5 to 7 days.
