Implant Sciences Sells Over $200,000 of Quantum Sniffer Portable Explosives Trace Detectors for Building Security in Mexico
WILMINGTON, MA — Implant Sciences Corporation, a high technology supplier of systems and sensors for homeland security markets, announced today it has received an order worth over $200,000 for multiple units of its Quantum Sniffer(TM) QS-H150 portable explosives trace detector to be deployed for building security in Mexico.
Implant Sciences has been selling the QS-H150 in Mexico since 2008, where the system is used daily for a variety of applications, including airport security. The Mexican market for security equipment and services was estimated at $1.2 billion in 2006, with imports accounting for $503 million of the total, according to a report published by the Massachusetts Office of International Trade and Investment. The report also cited the ‘explosives detection’ category as having one of the ‘best prospects’ in the security sector.
“We are pleased with the continued success of our products in Mexico. Latin America and South America are key markets for us and Mexico is of primary importance. Meeting the growing demand for explosives trace detection equipment in Mexico helps create greater security for a valued U.S. ally,” stated Glenn D. Bolduc, President and CEO of Implant Sciences.
“Our global distribution network continues to generate the sales momentum we seek. Having recently sold and shipped substantial orders to Asia and the Middle East, we are pleased to deliver additional QS-H150s into Latin America, a strategic growth market,” added Bruce Bower, Implant Sciences’ Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
