In silico Cloning and BLAST Made Easier with New Release from CLC bio

Aarhus, Denmark – Today, CLC bio announced the release of several desktop software packages for analyzing biological sequence data including the popular products such as the CLC Main Workbench 6.0 and CLC DNA Workbench 6.0.

This update offers large improvements to two of the most important bioinformatics tools used by biomedical researchers everywhere, namely in silico cloning and BLAST.

In silico cloning and BLAST are applications of profound importance to every biomedical research laboratory and we have been able to utilize the great input we get from our large customer base to make these tools even more powerful and accessible in our products.

Other important additions to the CLC Main Workbench and CLC DNA Workbench, versions 6.0, include an interactive motif search functionality, improved viewing and navigation of annotation data, as well as options for recording auditing data and for custom configuration of restriction enzyme databases and codon frequency tables. Like all desktop applications from CLC bio, the CLC Main Workbench and CLC DNA Workbench are both platform independent, running on Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux – including 64bit versions. All desktop applications from CLC bio can be enhanced with specialized plug-ins, which can be developed using CLC bio’s free software developer kit.
