Lab901 ships 50th TapeStation™ Instrument for PCR Diagnostics to new Canadian distributor, Inverness Medical

Edinburgh – 20 Jan 2009 – Lab901 today announced shipment of its 50th TapeStation™ instrument to its new Canadian distributor, Inverness Medical.

Inverness Medical Canada joins the growing team of international distributors for Lab901’s first ScreenTape® product which automates multiplex PCR detection and analysis.

‘We are delighted to have reached this milestone in such a short space of time’ commented Richard Rowling, Lab901’s Sales & Marketing Director. ‘The addition of another very experienced distributor, such as Inverness Medical, to our expanding distribution network demonstrates how well the ScreenTape® platform has been adopted by the market since our launch last year’ added Joel Fearnley, Lab901’s CEO and co-founder.

Lab901 announced in May 2008 that it had partnered with Seegene Inc to address the growing market for rapid, multiplex PCR Diagnostics. ‘Combining Seegene’s Seeplex® technology for multiplex pathogen detection with Lab901’s rapid, automated PCR analysis platform allows Inverness Medical Canada to competitively address this exciting growth market’ said David Smith, Inverness Medical’s Director of Marketing.
