Lexogen and BlueBee have launched a new, web-based data analysis portal to provide a more user‑friendly experience for Lexogen kit users analyzing RNA sequencing data. With the Lexogen web solution configuration on the BlueBee Genomics Platform, data upload is easier than ever— files can be uploaded with a simple “drag and drop” function (Figure 1) within the streamlined web interface, in addition to the connector upload which is still recommended for larger files. Data may be imported directly from Illumina^® BaseSpace™, Google Cloud Storage™, and Amazon S3™, so there is no longer a need to direct download and then re-upload.

The Lexogen web solution integrates a complementary application, the IGV (Integrative Genomics Viewer)¹ browser, for the QuantSeq data analysis pipeline. This integration allows visualization and exploration of the large RNA sequencing datasets. (Figure 2)

Lexogen has a long history with several RNA-Seq data analysis pipelines already successfully placed on the BlueBee platform (QuantSeq 3’ mRNA-Seq Library Prep, CORALL Total RNA-Seq Library Prep, and SLAMseq Metabolic RNA Labeling). These data analysis workflows, powered by BlueBee, the configurable genomics data analysis solutions provider, offer a streamlined and secure analysis solution optimized for the end‑user. These workflows enable Lexogen customers to process sequencing data automatically with the pre‑configured and optimized pipeline saving time that can be spent focused on science instead of bioinformatic workflow configuration and data management.

Pipeline automation also means that anyone can run their data analysis, even users without a bioinformatics or IT background. To run the analysis, users obtain access codes for the Lexogen web solution. QuantSeq data analysis access codes are included as complementary to each kit; CORALL codes and SLAMseq codes may be requested or purchased from Lexogen. To activate the code and process the sequencing data, the kit user simply registers on the Lexogen web solution.

The BlueBee information security management system is ISO 27001 (for kit users from medical device organizations, connect with BlueBee directly to discuss an ISO 13485 offering). BlueBee meets GDPR and other global data compliance requirements with its unique data residency guarantee. As part of the comprehensive compliance of the web solution, data security is at the core of the Lexogen web solution, including data encryption at all stages.
