Leading Clinical Proteomics Research Group Chooses Ludesi Basic and the Ludesi REDFIN Software for its 2D Gel Image Analysis

New “Ludesi Basic” Offering for 2D Gel Image Analysis Chosen by Clinical Proteomics Researchers at Universidade de Santiago de Compostela

Boston, MA, December 8, 2008 – Ludesi Corporation, developer of the award-winning Ludesi REDFIN software for two-dimensional electrophoresis gels, today announced that the Department of Pharmacology at Universidade de Santiago de Compostela has chosen Ludesi for its 2D gel image analysis.

“Ludesi is my preferred choice for 2D gel image analysis and I recommend it to other researchers working with 2D gels,” says Dr. Ángel García-Alonso at the Department of Pharmacology at Universidade de Santiago de Compostela.

Dr. García-Alonso has extensive experience with 2D gel image analysis from various research positions in Spain and the UK, and is familiar with the current leading 2D gel software packages on the market. He is leading clinical proteomics projects on platelet cardiovascular research.

“Personally I am choosing Ludesi Basic for the image analysis of my 2D gels. In combination with the Ludesi REDFIN software, I feel it performs very well and gives me good value for money,” explains Dr. García-Alonso.

Ludesi Basic was introduced to the market 29 July this year in order to make Ludesi’s technologies available to a broader market. At €35/$50 per gel it is for many research groups an attractive alternative to Ludesi Pro, and a highly competitive offering for 2D gel image analysis.

“Ludesi Basic has been very well received by our customers. We set out to create a light-weight version of Ludesi’s industry-leading 2D gel image analysis in order to make our technology available to a broader market,” comments Ludesi’s CEO Ola Forsstrom-Olsson.

“It is rewarding for us to get this positive response from such an experienced scientist as Dr. García-Alonso and we are proud to be able to facilitate his research in clinical proteomics,” says Ola Forsstrom-Olsson.

“For those with more experience in 2D gel image analysis and not in a big hurry, Ludesi Basic is a good and cost-effective alternative to the more complete Ludesi Pro service,” concludes Dr. García-Alonso.
