Mass Spectrometry Industry Leader Uses Facebook, YouTube and Twitter to Connect with Scientists on Mobile Lab Tour
FRAMINGHAM, Mass.– AB SCIEX, a global leader in life science analytical technologies, is using Facebook, YouTube and Twitter to connect hundreds of scientists with the MASStastic Voyage mobile lab tour, which is currently trekking across North America to expand awareness about new developments in analytical science. The company’s page, Facebook.com/ABSciex, has allowed scientists around the world to follow the progress of this highly unique, state-of-the-art mobile laboratory since it left Orlando in mid-March.
Up to now, more than 1,000 people have been onboard the MASStastic Voyage mobile lab, discussing new ways to improve food safety testing, environmental analysis, clinical research, bioanalysis and biomedical research. To cover a variety of scientific workflows, AB SCIEX partnered with Phenomenex and Peak Scientific on this mobile lab tour.
“We have received very positive feedback from scientists about our initiative to go on the road to help improve analysis of contaminants, compounds and proteins, and we are looking forward to continuing to engage in meaningful dialogue with scientists.” said Rob Ellis, Ph.D., AB SCIEX’s R&D Director. “We also invite people to engage with AB SCIEX through social media.”
The MASStastic Voyage Tour is bringing the demonstration of the latest generation of mass spectrometry and liquid chromatography (LC) technologies to cities with food testing laboratories, government agencies, educational institutions, and clinical research laboratories. The itinerary of the lab-on-wheels consists of 30 cities, including Vancouver, Canada, which will be the last stop of the tour on May 20.
