Midsci announces the NEW MultiGene Gradient Thermal Cycler

The MultiGene Gradient Thermal Cycler features an intuitive and easy-to-use interface which makes setting up protocols quick and simple. Programming is accessed through both the alphanumeric keypad and the large, back-lit LCD display which features on-screen prompts and a graphical representation of protocol steps. Protocols can be optimized by utilizing a 12 row gradient which can be set up across the block. In addition time and temperature increments can be applied for “touchdown” applications. Microprocessor control of the Peltier units, combined with sophisticated algorithms, provide accurate temperature modulation with minimal temperature over/undershoot for consistent, reliable results. Several common protocols come pre-programmed and can be customized. Newly created protocols can be saved in public folders or password protected in user-specific folders. Up to 100 protocols may be stored in memory. The modern, compact design features a sliding, fully-adjustable heated lid that provides proper pressure and temperature for tubes, strips and plates. The lid provides full access to samples while protecting users from the hot lid surface. The 96 x 0.2mL block version is currently available and it is compatible with all major brands of tubes, strips and plates. The 96-well version will be upgradeable to a 60 x 0.5mL block or a 384 well format. Six Peltier units, arranged in 3 individually controlled modules allow for enhanced temperature control and ramping rates of up to 3°/sec.
