Multi-National Oil and Gas Company Chooses Accelrys to Increase Efficiency in Catalyst Discovery and Optimization
SAN DIEGO–Accelrys, Inc. (NASDAQ: ACCL – News), a leading provider of scientific business intelligence software and services, today announced that one of the largest multi-national oil and gas companies has chosen Accelrys to develop an integrated solution which would enable this company’s catalyst research scientists to both accelerate catalysis research and discovery and to improve the performance of the resulting catalysts.
Under the terms of the Agreement, Accelrys’ professional services team will design and develop a centralized database to enable data from multiple locations to quickly and easily flow into one database. The solution will utilize Accelrys’ SciTegic Enterprise Server platform (SES) and will enable the collection, mining and analysis of data with intelligent decision support capabilities in order to accelerate the research and development process. The solution is expected to be completed within the next twelve months and is anticipated to result in approximately a million dollars in revenues from software and services.
SES is a powerful client-server platform that streamlines the integration and analysis of the vast quantities of data flooding research informatics. SES provides an agile development environment, fast and secure deployment, minimal maintenance costs, and application extensibility. Utilizing SES, this customer will derive greater value from its information resources through enterprise-scale data flow control, extensive data mining capabilities, and effective reporting.
“Our flexible integrated scientific business intelligence solution will better equip our customer to handle its complex high throughput catalysis and discovery business needs,” said Accelrys’ President and Chief Executive Officer Mark J. Emkjer. “Our technology has traditionally enabled our life-science customers to optimize the use of their scientific data.
