New High-Throughput Hybridization System for Agilent Microarrays

April 01, 2008, Sunnyvale, CA — SciGene introduced the Mai Tai™ Hybridization System, a new microarray slide hybridization system that incubates four slide microarrays at once; as a replacement for Agilent SureHyb® chambers that incubate only one slide at a time. The Mai Tai™ System consists of a two-piece cassette that seals up to four Agilent gasket slide microarray assemblies. After loading samples and sealing, cassettes are rotated during incubation using a SciGene Model 777 Microarray Oven that provides “bubble mixing” of the sample. Up to eight cassettes holding 32 slides can be rotated simultaneously. The Mai Tai™ cassette has a microplate footprint for compatibility with robotic liquid handling systems and is sealed after sample loading without the use of tools. The simple design of the cassette uses 75% fewer assembly steps, compared to SureHyb® chambers, to streamline workflow and reduce handling errors. About SciGene SciGene (www.scigene.com) is a privately held company founded in 2003 following the acquisition of genomics and drug discovery research product lines from Robbins Scientific. SciGene provides instruments that use process control, automation, and protocol optimization to reduce microarray data errors, enabling researchers to more quickly and reliably obtain meaningful results.
