New Manufacturing Expansion Parr Instrument Company Announces $22.5 Million Expansion and Renovation Project in Moline, Illinois
Parr Instrument Company has announced plans to build a 54,000 square foot facility adjacent to their existing building at the corner of 53rd Street and 4th Avenue in Moline, Illinois. The new state of the art facility will house the manufacturing operations of the company established in 1899. After completion of the new facility the existing 26,000 square feet of vacated manufacturing space will be renovated for administrative use.
Parr has contracted with Russel Construction and Legat Architects to design and oversee both portions of the project. Working with the City of Moline to create a complete package of incentives and area improvements, Parr has obtained approvals for site development.
The expansion is necessary for Parr to continue to expand their product offerings and attract top talent in the area. Parr has seen record setting years along with growth in product offerings. The last expansion was in 1990 and business has tripled since that time. Along with sales growth Parr’s offerings have increased in physical size as well in the past decade with the largest offerings expanding from 20 liter to nearly 200 liter volume vessels. This increased size has presented challenges in machining as well as assembly in the current space.
The new facility will be complete with solar array to generate roughly 65% of the company’s electricity usage. There will be a 2 bay covered dock equipped with 5 ton crane system for material handling, 20 foot clear height ceilings for handling of larger product to meet increasing customer demands, full environment control with dust and mist collection systems.
Included in the expansion plans Parr is investing over $4.5 million in new state of the art machinery and capital equipment.
Groundbreaking for the new facility was held on April 12, 2024 with an expected completion in late spring of 2025. After which the remodeling of the existing facility will commence.
