Nikon Instruments Introduces New Microscopes and Illumination Stand for Education and OEM Markets

Nikon Instruments Inc. (https://www.nikoninstruments.com/) announced its new SMZ-445/460

stereoscopic zoom microscopes, combining a very small size with high

performance at a low cost for the Industrial and OEM markets. These

microscopes allow observation of a wide range of applications, from routine

quality control to semiconductor probing OEM applications.

The SMZ-445, with 0.8x to 3.5x zoom magnification, and SMZ-460, 0.7x to

3.0x zoom magnification, deliver outstanding optical performance in a

lightweight, compact design. The multicoatings on the lens surfaces provide

clear, bright and high contrast images, and the inside of the zooming body

is treated with a mold-resistant finish to maintain the quality of the

lenses even in hot, humid environments. In addition, the long working

distances of 100mm, allow safe focusing even for specimens with uneven

surfaces. The SMZ-445/460 feature a Greenough zooming optical system and

ESD protection to prevent electrostatic damage to samples.

“The new SMZ-445/460’s small body size will fit on a wider variety of

OEM applications and will deliver the outstanding optical performance

expected from our cutting-edge series of stereoscopic zoom microscopes,”

said Mike Metzger, General Manager, Sales and Marketing, Nikon Instruments.

“With these new microscopes, Nikon has delivered premium performance in a

compact body at a price point suited for the Industrial and OEM markets.”
