Ovizio Imaging Systems appoints Dr. Emilie Viey as Chief Executive Officer

Brussels – Ovizio Imaging Systems, a life science imaging technology company,
announces the appointment of Emilie Viey as CEO and board member. Dr. Viey will lead Ovizio’s
further development as solution provider for imaging applications in Life Sciences.
Emilie Viey joins Ovizio Imaging Systems from ACEA Biosciences, a Cell Analysis instruments
company based in San Diego (USA), where she was Director of Commercialization and set up the
complete organization for Europe. Before that, she was application scientist at Roche Diagnostics
France for Cellular Analysis Instruments (Cell Counters, Imaging Platform and Label Free Cell
Analyzers). Emilie holds a MSc. in Biochemistry and a PhD in Immunology.
Philip Mathuis, co-founder of Ovizio, who is stepping down as CEO, played a crucial role setting up
the company and establishing its operations. He secured funding, developed a portfolio of products
and recruited an outstanding team to move the organization to the next phase.
“Ovizio has a unique technology platform and product portfolio for automated label-free imaging of
cells that offer the capability to fingerprint cells for a large number of applications”, says Dr. Viey. “I
am convinced of the tremendous value Ovizio can bring to the manufacturing of as well traditional
cellular bioprocessing as to the most advanced cell therapy processes. I very much look forward to
working with Ovizio’s team to further expand the company’s reach.”
“Establishing and building Ovizio has been an exciting and extraordinary experience. I’m glad I can
hand over the reins to Emilie who brings deep scientific knowledge, understanding and experience in
cell based instrumentation, from marketing to sales,” explains Philip Mathuis.
