Oxford Instruments introduces the X-Strata960+ for measuring coating thickness and composition by XRF. The X-Strata960+ is the latest evolution of the industry leading X-Strata series. This new, high precision instrument, is specifically designed for gold analysis in the electronics industry.
A number of significant new features have been incorporated into X-Strata960+ and the key elements are:
100 Watt Molybdenum X-ray Tube
Automatic Spectrum Calibration
High Precision Micro-feature Analysis
Advanced Data Export
The powerful 100-Watt Molybdenum X-ray tube in X-Strata960+ gives twice the count rate of conventional 50-Watt systems combined with twice the amount of X-rays passing through its micro collimator. The result is improved precision and shorter measurement time. Gold layers are becoming thinner and harder to measure, but X-Strata960+ can measure down to the lowest limit of detection – just 0.4 nanometers!
Electronics are sensitive to environmental changes and so Spectrum Calibration is necessary to ensure accuracy of results. X-Strata960+ has Automatic Spectrum Calibration to correct the ‘gain change’ for stable spectrum peaks. This feature improves the stability and quality of analysis results without any user intervention.
X-Strata960+ incorporates a 15um collimator that allows for the analysis of small electronics features. The best performance is achieved when combined with new high-precision stage …/… -2- and a high magnification 45x lens (190x zoom). With PCBs getting smaller almost by the day, these features ensure operators can analyse the smallest of samples.
Finally, X-Strata960+ incorporates advanced data export software enabling simple data transfer to networks, easy chart creation and the ability to produce popular Excel report formats.
