Partek Software Has Record Year of Scientific Citations
ST. LOUIS — 2.9.16 — The number of scientific journals citing Partek® analysis software has grown each year with 2015 marking a record 930 citations, bringing the total to over 5,000. Among recent citations are those featured in high-impact journals such as Nature, Nature Genetics and Blood to name a few. Topics include cancer genomics, neurodegenerative diseases, developmental biology and biomarker research.
Ms. Meng Li, the bioinformatics specialist for Bioinformatics Services at the University of Southern California Norris Medical Library said, “The ease of use and flexibility of Partek Flow software allows our group to support many different users with next generation sequencing computationally-demanding tasks including Dr. Kate Lawrenson who recently published in Nature Medicine” (Spisak, Lawrenson, Fu et al., 21, 1357-63; 2015). Program coordinator for the Norris Medical Library, Dr. Yibu Chen said, “I know that I can count on Partek for things like tech support to help train our users through on-site workshops.”
Dr. Wa Xian of the McGovern School of Medicine at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center and Dr. Frank McKeon of the University of Houston have also made extensive use of the Partek Informatics platform in their seminal work on lung regeneration and the regiospecificity of adult stem cells in the human gastrointestinal tract described in two recent Nature publications (Zuo et al., 517, 616-620; 2015; Wang, Yamamoto et al., 522, 173-178; 2015). Dr. Xian said, “Partek has been a remarkably user-friendly and powerful tool for distilling key regulatory pathways governing stem cells from complex arrays of gene expression and genomics data.”
Dr. Efstathios Giotis, a researcher at Imperial College London, is also a proponent of Partek software. Dr. Giotis said, “Partek Genomics Suite is possibly the most user friendly and powerful microarray analysis software on the market right now.” Dr. Giotis used the analysis software in his recent work published in Nature (Long et al., 5297584 101-104). “It helped us enormously to analyze our data quickly and efficiently,” said Dr. Giotis.
Partek attributes this milestone to their vigilance to customer needs. “We’re on the phones with researchers every day listening to their needs and we respond with a combination of technical support and new and improved features,” said Tom Downey, CEO and president of Partek, Inc. “From providing one-on-one customer support, conducting workshops, to developing software solutions, it’s always about our customers and the research they’re doing,” said Downey.
