PerkinElmer, Inc., a global leader committed to innovating for a healthier world, has appointed Dr. Madhuri Hegde as vice president and chief scientific officer for its newly created Laboratory Services group within its Diagnostics business.

PerkinElmer’s Laboratory Services group brings together the Company’s global diagnostic lab resources to provide comprehensive genetic screening and diagnostic testing solutions, offered through its facilities in Pennsylvania, Connecticut, India and China.

Dr. Hegde will oversee the laboratory services group to ensure the delivery of innovative solutions to clinical and healthcare system customers.  These offerings include newborn screening, prenatal and inherited disease testing, along with diagnostic testing, next gen sequencing-panel, exome and genome sequencing.

Dr. Hegde was previously with Emory Genetics Lab, serving as Chief Scientific Officer and Executive Director.

PerkinElmer offers a global diagnostics portfolio focused on: reproductive health, infectious disease screening and genomics offerings for oncology and other molecular tests through its wide range of instruments, reagents, assay platforms and software offerings.
