Qlucore appoints new Head of R&D

Swedish software company Qlucore – listed on Nasdaq First North – has appointed Ulf Ahlfors as Head of R&D. Ahlfors joins Qlucore from Assa Abloy where he was product manager. He joins Qlucore on February 7th, 2022.

Ulf Ahlfors is a computer engineer with a PhD in telecom and internet technology and extensive experience of combining smart technology with innovation from, among others, Axis Communications and SwitchCore. He was also part of the growth company Sinch from its foundation.

“Qlucore was an easy choice for me. Being able to work in a company with research-related activities and being involved in developing smart applications around this groundbreaking software appeals to me. In addition, it is very satisfying that the software is about contributing to both better diagnostics and treatment methods for people suffering from cancer”, says Ulf Ahlfors.

“Ulf Ahlfors’ abilities and experience will fit the Qlucore team perfectly in terms of growth in the research area and also in upscaling in the diagnostics area”, says Carl-Johan Ivarsson, CEO of Qlucore. “He has a perfect mix of skills, partly from different types of industrial companies, and partly because he is used to combining internet technology, mathematics and statistics with innovation, which bodes well for our growth and expansion.”

Qlucore’s software creates the conditions for better cancer care. This is made possible by advanced visualization based on mathematics and biology and makes it easier for pathologists and analysts to conduct faster and more accurate diagnosis.
