Save Time and Improve Cell Viability when Producing Cell Isolates

Pequannock, NJ – Researchers can quickly and easily disaggregate multiple tissue samples to produce isolated cell suspensions for flow cytometry analysis or cell culture with the Scienceware® 12-Well Tissue Disaggregator by Bel-Art Products. This patent pending, multi-well device mates with standard 12-well culture plates enabling processing of tissues directly into culture plate wells.

Twelve wells speed processing time and reduce per sample costs in comparison to single cup designs. Additionally, no time is wasted with transfers or creating “homemade” devices.

Up to a 20% increase in cell viability can be realized compared to using frosted glass slides, according to Bel-Art Products Development Team. Just press tissues through the permanently affixed 70 mesh, 316-grade stainless steel screens using any suitable pestle-like item, including syringe plungers, cell scrapers, etc. A Double-ended Pestle from Bel-Art Products, catalog no. F19911-0001 will be available in the third quarter of 2011.

Because of the permanently affixed screens, there are no gaps or spaces in which tissue samples can become trapped. This eliminates sample loss and makes clean-up easy. It can be repeatedly exposed to ethanol or autoclaved over and over as needed using the included stainless steel autoclave frame.

Suggested list price for the Scienceware® 12-Well Tissue Disaggregator with the stainless steel autoclaving frame, catalog no. H37844-0000, is $98.75. It mates perfectly with standard 12-Well cell culture plates including BD Falcon™, Corning®, Thermo Scientific®, Greiner Cellstar®, and more.
