Scienion AG today announced the appointment of Dr. Guenter Bauer as Chief Business Officer to Scienion’s management. The focus of his responsibilities will be sales and marketing. Bauer took up his new position on January 1, 2009.

Dortmund, Berlin, Germany, January 20, 2009: Bauer is a senior business and technology development manager with scientific background and a proven track record in establishing and developing new businesses in the drug discovery market for automated detection systems, solutions and services to industry and academia. After starting his industry career at BASF he joined Evotec where he held senior management positions and was appointed as CBO for the subsidiary Evotec Technologies. After Evotec Technologies was acquired by PerkinElmer he served the successor company PerkinElmer Cellular Technologies Germany as Director Business Collaboration.
