Shimadzu Introduces Addition to Line of Precision Top-Loading Electronic Balances

COLUMBIA, Md. — Shimadzu Scientific Instruments introduces the TW series to its line of top-loading electronic balances. The TW series adds internal calibration capability to Shimadzu’s existing line of TX balances. This introduction also extends the range of the series to up to 420 g capacity (for 0.001 g readability) and up to 4,200 g capacity (for 0.01 g readability).

The TW series’ new motorized internal calibration capability allows the operator to calibrate the balance in 15 seconds with the touch of a button. Users can perform calibration checks or adjustments at any time without handling test weights.

TW Series balances are equipped with Shimadzu’s UniBloc integral mass sensor, which is constructed from a one-piece aluminum alloy unit, replacing 70 parts found in conventional electronic balances. Balances with UniBloc technology have more durability, speed and stability. They experience less performance variation due to temperature changes and are less susceptible to air currents, vibrations and impact.

Like Shimadzu’s TX series, the TW series features one-touch operation to quickly adjust the desired ratio of stability and response for every application, even during measurement. For easier navigation, menu keys are separated from weighing operation keys and arranged in a familiar five-way navigation circle.

The TW top-loaded electronic balances are ideal for manufacturing and quality control applications, as well as research and development in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries.
