Toronto – TeknoScan Systems Inc. has appointed England’s Quantitech Ltd., as its exclusive UK and Ireland distributor, following a signing ceremony at this year’s Counter Terror Expo in London.

The agreement covers TeknoScan’s state-of-the-art, patent-pending technology for Rapid Trace Detection and Identification (RTDI). Based on aspiration, RTDI detects and identifies banned or hazardous substances through the sampling and analysis of trace vapours and particles in the air or on surfaces. The TeknoScan system will make 100 per cent cargo screening possible with minimal disruption to the flow of commerce.

With the cooperation of several leading port authorities and government security agencies, the technology is undergoing testing globally, with other distributors and partners now being selected worldwide.
