TeraView Enhances US Presence

CAMBRIDGE, UK – TeraView, (www.teraview.com ) is pleased to announce the opening of its first overseas office within the Institute for the Development and Commercialization of Advanced Sensor Technology, IDCAST, in Dayton, Ohio.

“There is an impressive concentration of Terahertz systems and technology in this region of the United States” said Dr. Don Arnone, TeraView’s CEO. “Our long and productive associations with world-class researchers in this region, who we support and work with as collaborators and customers, make Ohio ideally suited for this facility. ”

After around 10 years in development, Terahertz technology is now coming of age. TeraView has been at the forefront of both the technology and its applications, and its business is growing across a number of sectors and geographic areas. Growing and supporting the business in North America is clearly a key priority and the facility is vital in support of this.

To help launch this new presence, and in association with IDCAST, TeraView is planning to run a series of Terahertz training events, aimed at demonstrating the potential of the technology and how it can be used in different applications.

“The two day event will cover both theoretical aspects and hands on training” said Dr. Phil Taday, head of applications “We will also offer free consultation and support to people who want to bring along and run their own samples”

If you would like to know more or participate in any of the training days please contact Dr. Phil Taday

About TeraView (www.teraview.com)

TeraView is the world’s first company devoted to the application of Terahertz light for imaging and spectroscopy. TeraView’s proprietary platform uses the Terahertz spectrum between light and radio waves and offers the advantage of being non-invasive and non-destructive. Past studies have demonstrated how Terahertz uniquely and non destructively provides 3 dimensional structural and chemical information in a diverse range of applications, including explosives hidden below clothing, the contents of tablets in the pharmaceutical industry, and other objects normally invisible to conventional detection techniques. Other markets exist in medical imaging of cancer and industrial inspection which are explored via commercial partners. Headquartered in Cambridge, UK, TeraView was spun-out of the Toshiba in April 2001. Sales and support are available throughout Europe, North America and the Far East directly or through a network of distributors.
