CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa.–TESCAN USA, A leading provider in North America of Scanning Electron Microscopes and Focused Ion Beam Workstations has established an applications and demonstration lab in Northern California.

Located in Pleasanton, California, this new demonstration facility has been established to host TESCAN customers in the Western Region of North America. TESCAN USA has recruited a core team of professionals with extensive experience in charged particle microscopy to support this new facility and its customers.

Senior Applications Specialist, Mark Betts, comes to TESCAN USA with over 20 years of experience in SEM applications and spent his last 9 years as an Applications Specialist with Hitachi High-Tech. Prior to working with Hitachi, Mark worked as an application specialist with Oxford Instruments. Mark has extensive experience in all areas of scanning electron microscopy, including EDS, WDS and all areas of sample preparation.

Recruited to provide service support for the demonstration lab and customers in the Western U.S. is Ted Allison. Ted has extensive experience and a proven track record in customer support and spent the last few years of his career with Hitachi High-Tech, supporting scanning electron microscopes, CD SEM’s. During his time with Hitachi he was the recipient of the “Excellent Service Award” from Intel.

Rounding off the core West Coast team is Regional Sales Manager, Drew Erwin. Drew comes to TESCAN USA from Gatan, where he was Application Manager for the TEM product line. He has over 20 years of experience in the charged particle Field. Drew’s expertise and understanding of electron and focused ion beam applications comes from his hands on experience as an operator and analyst during his time with Motorola, Intel and Accurel.
