Thermo Electron Acquires Continuous Air Quality Monitoring Company
Waltham, MA -Thermo Electron has purchased Rupprecht and Patashnick, a maker of continuous particulate monitoring instruments, for an undisclosed amount. The company provides time-resolved mass measurement techniques for ambient air, emissions monitoring and industrial hygiene markets and had 2004 revenues of $17 million. “R&P is a global leader in particulate monitoring instrumentation and is well positioned to address future particulate monitoring regulations that will impact the emissions and ambient air monitoring markets, both of which are core to Thermo,” said Marijn E. Dekkers, president and CEO of Thermo Electron. Rupprecht and Patashnick will join the Air Quality Instrument products line of Thermo Electron’s Environmental Instruments division.
