Thermo Fisher Scientific Completes Acquisition of Ahura Scientific

WALTHAM, Mass.–Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. (NYSE: TMO), the world leader in serving science, today announced that it has completed its previously announced acquisition of Ahura Scientific, a leader in handheld Raman and FT-IR (Fourier-transform infrared) spectroscopy instruments that are used worldwide in the identification of chemicals for safety, security and pharmaceutical applications. Ahura generated full-year 2009 revenues of approximately $45 million. The company will be integrated into Thermo Fisher’s Analytical Technologies Segment.
