Two Nutrient Analyzers Have Completed Verification Testing
The nutrient analyzers undergoing verification testing are on-line instruments that can perform continuous monitoring of nutrient concentration in industrial and/or municipal wastewater. The analyzers are stand alone, automated instruments that continuously or routinely determine nutrient concentration in wastewater for extended periods without user intervention.
Two nutrient analyzers were tested in collaboration with DuPont at the industrial wastewater treatment facility at DuPont’s Spruance Plant in Richmond, Virginia. The ZAPS Technologies MP.1 was tested for nitrate and the Shimadzu TNPC-411( C ) was tested for total nitrogen and total phosphorus. The verification test began in May.
The results of the verification test are expected to be available on the ETV Web site (www.epa.gov) later in the year.
