DARMSTADT, Germany–VWR International bvba, a subsidiary of VWR International, LLC, announced today its completion of pre-registration for our portfolio to comply with the requirements of the REACH Directive (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals). VWR, a leading global laboratory supply company, is present in sixteen European countries.

Starting December 1st, only pre-registered or registered substances can be imported or manufactured in the European Union (for quantities above 1 tonne/year). VWR has satisfied the pre-registration requirements with respect to this broad range of substances and is focused on meeting the other requirements of the REACH Directive as they take effect while continuing to meet the demands of its customers seamlessly.

With this proactive approach, conducted by its dedicated European Regulatory Affairs Team, VWR accomplished the pre-registration of all the substances in VWR’s product portfolio independent from the registration activities of any of the manufacturers which supply the substances.
