Milford, MA -Waters has acquired VICAM’s food safety technology business and associated net assets. VICAM makes single-use test kits for detecting the presence of mycotoxin and microbiological organisms in food products as well as immunoaffinity columns for the isolation of contaminants for measurement by fluorometers, HPLC or LC/MS. “What initially attracted Waters to VICAM was its leadership position in this important segment of the food testing business, coupled with its strong customer commitment and their focus upon creating relationships with relevant regulatory agencies,” said Mark Baynham, Director-Chemistry and Consumables Marketing for Waters. Financial terms were not disclosed.
