Waters Sponsors the Inaugural Uwe Dieter Neue Award
AMSTERDAM –– Waters Corporation (NYSE:WAT) announced that Joseph J. Kirkland, Ph.D., Vice President of R&D Technologies, Advanced Materials Technology will receive the first annual Uwe D. Neue Award in Separation Science at the 39th International Symposium on High-Performance-Liquid-Phase Separations and Related Techniques (HPLC 2013) in Amsterdam.
Dr. Kirkland will be honored for his advancements in chromatography and dedication to separation science. Following the ceremony, Dr. Kirkland will present his latest research at the symposium.
Dr. Kirkland has authored over 160 major publications, mainly in the separation sciences, and holds thirty-two U. S. patents. He is on the editorial advisory board of the Journal of Chromatographic Science and has also served as a past member of the journal’s advisory board. Research interests include high resolution separations, HPLC method development, silica chemistry and silane bonding reactions. Dr. Kirkland has been widely recognized as an outstanding researcher, receiving numerous awards including the prestigious A. J. P. Martin Chromatography Award Medal in 1997.
This is the first Uwe D. Neue Award, instituted to honor the legacy of late scientist and Waters® Corporate Fellow, Dr. Uwe Dieter Neue, by annually recognizing a distinguished industrial scientist who has made, and continues to make, significant contributions to separation science.
