Whatman, Part of GE Healthcare, and VigeneTech Launch Custom Software for Fast Quant(R) System
FLORHAM PARK, N.J.–Whatman, part of GE Healthcare, a unit of General Electric Company (NYSE:GE – News), and VigeneTech, today announced the launch of custom software to analyze Whatman FAST Quant® samples. The customized OEM software from VigeneTech provides high quality image quantification and enhances the automation for Whatman FAST Quant® protein array image and data analysis.
The Whatman FAST Quant® Kits allow researchers to accurately determine the concentration of several cytokines in dozens of biological samples simultaneously, using familiar ELISA immunochemistry. Built on Whatman FAST® Slides, the most reliable and sensitive platform for microarrays, FAST Quant® combines the power of array technology with the quantitative nature and high throughput capabilities of traditional ELISA.
MicroVigene from VigeneTech is the most widely recognized spot finding software in the market. The new custom software will now allow FAST Quant® users to rapidly and more accurately analyze fluorescent immunoassay results from multiplexed platforms. More accurate spot finding in an array format assures increased accuracy of assay results.
Dr. Michael Harvey, Director of Research and Development for Whatman, comments that FAST Quant® has proven to be an excellent analytical multiplexing tool for the simultaneous determination of different analytes from small volumes of clinical samples. “With the improved image analysis capabilities of the MicroVigene for FAST Quant® image analysis software, and new array configurations, FAST Quant® arrays will continue to provide a powerful tool for our clinical and pre-clinical customers.” The FAST Quant® System is a complete package allowing simple determinations of analyte concentrations with sophisticated and rapid data analysis.
