The World’s First Optical Nanoscope

We are launching the world’s most powerful optical microscope, powered by SMAL (Super-resolution Microsphere Assisted Lens). Developed, designed, built, and launched in Manchester.

THE MOST ACCESSIBLE SUPER-RESOLUTION IMAGING EVER.

Our world leading super-resolution technology rivals STED and STORM for biological imaging and SEM for material imaging – and costs 3×5 times less than the former, and 10x less than the latter. It is the most versatile and accessible super-resolution system ever built. Join us to see the nanoscopic world like never before.

SMALL JUST GOT SMALLER

We have called our new technology SMAL – super-resolution microsphere amplified lens. We use a microsphere to collect the invisible sub-wavelength light and convert it into a virtual super-resolution image. Our software then stitches in real time to create wide field sample scans. SMAL is the first super-resolution imaging technique that uses optics to resolve sub 100nm, opening up exciting possibilities from across the life sciences and materials sciences:

IN-VIVO BIOLOGICAL IMAGING

Our imaging method does not require samples to be protein fixed, it is non-contact and non-destructive to the sample, and works with or without fluorescent labelling. SMAL opens up the possibility of live imaging biological samples like viruses and bacteria over a long period of time. We see the NANOPSIS ONE revolutionising drug discovery, cancer research, novel therapeutics discovery and more.

MATERIALS IMAGING

Unlike a SEM we image in full colour, giving more detail than ever before. Furthermore, we can image samples that have transparent elements generating images with 50nm resolution across the X,Y,Z axis. From microprocessor and microelectronic component production to industrial fault inspection, the NANOPSIS ONE gives a unique insight into the nanoscopic world.
