MUNICH/Germany – Dr. Michael Kaschke, President and CEO of Carl Zeiss AG and Dr. Ulrich Simon, Managing Director of Carl Zeiss MicroImaging GmbH, opened the ZEISS Microscopy Labs in Munich on 11 October 2011. British Digital Artist Jo Berry exhibited her work alongside the event. She processes and transforms scientific images captured with the Carl Zeiss LSM 710 confocal microscope. Her work will be on show in the Microscopy Labs until next spring.

In the Microscopy Labs, Carl Zeiss provides a complete portfolio of systems for a multitude of applications, for example the use of structured illumination and confocal techniques to create optical sections. A complete installation of the correlative microscopy workflow gives an insight into both light and electron microscopy and how they can be used together. In the 1400 m² space, users can test and directly compare various imaging systems. In close dialog with expert staff from Carl Zeiss, they can discuss their own specific applications and results. 15 specialists support customers in finding the best solution to their scientific inquiries – from specimen preparation to image capture through data editing and analysis.

Jens Rietdorf, Head of ZEISS Microscopy Labs, pledges: “We are placing the entire microscopy toolbox at the disposal of Carl Zeiss customers. Our scientific colleagues are specialists in these tools.”
