Sigma Acquires Protein Analysis Technology

Olink commercialized Duolink technology in 2007. An in situ proximity ligation assay, Duolink employs labeled secondary antibodies and rolling circle amplification. Olink plans to focus on its Proseek Multiplex products for human protein biomarker research.

St. Louis, MO 10/29/15—Sigma-Aldrich has agreed to acquire the Duolink product portfolio from Olink Bioscience for an undisclosed amount. Duolink allows visualization of low levels of proteins, protein modifications and protein interactions in fixed cells and tissue samples. The acquired assets include intellectual property, sales, marketing and manufacturing assets. Sigma has distributed the product line since 2013. “Owning the Duolink technology will provide Sigma-Aldrich with opportunities to develop new products as well as advance our existing technologies,” stated Amanda Halford, vice president, Academic Research, Sigma-Aldrich.
