Servomex named Charles Hurley, director of Sales and Marketing, managing director in June.

Sartorius Stedim Biotech entered into a partnership to market and distribute BlueSens’ oxygen and carbon dioxide sensors, which will be sold as private label products under the name BioPAT Xgas.

In July, KROHNE signed an exclusive distribution agreement for the chemical processing industry for Bayer Technology Services’ SpectroBAY in-line NIR spectrometer.

Galvanic Applied Sciences announced in September the completion of its sale (see IBO 6/30/13, 8/15/13).

Product Introductions

Thermo Fisher Scientific released the Thermo Scientific Orion 2117LL low-level chloride analyzer for power plants, which can detect chloride levels as low as 5 ppb using ion selective electrode sensor technology.

Thermo Fisher Scientific introduced in June the Thermo Scientific Prima BT Benchtop MS, featuring a magnetic sector analyzer designed for continuous operation in process development labs and a 16-port rapid multistream sampler.

Thermo Fisher Scientific debuted the Thermo Scientific Omni FT-IR Multi Gas CEMs for the simultaneous analysis of multiple stack gases, including hydrogen chloride.

AMETEK Process Instruments released in July the Thermox WDG-V combustion analyzer, a close-coupled extractive combustion analyzer for measuring oxygen, combustibles and methane levels in hot, wet flue gas. It features improved process and safety functions.

Hach introduced in July the 5500sc Silica Analyzer for the power industry.

Tec5 launched the MultiSpec Raman spectrometer, with a typical spectral resolution of 5 cm-1.

Shimadzu introduced the NHN-4210 Ammonia Nitrogen Analyzer for wastewater monitoring. It was developed by Shimadzu (China).

In August, Yokogawa Electric released the FU20 pH/oxidation reduction potential SENCOM sensor, the first in a line of new digital SENCOM platform products.

PendoTECH released in August a line of disposable Single Use Conductivity Sensors for bioprocess operations. They are offered in a wide range of sizes for in-line measurement, with a range of 1–100 mS and readability of 0.1 mS.

Prozess Technologie launched “Process Analytics as a Service,” which is based on an annual subscription fee.

Mettler-Toledo Thornton launched the UniCond 4-E digital conductivity sensors. The four-electrode sensors provide highly accurate measurements across a wide range of chemical concentrations.
