In June, Agena Bioscience named KAWA.SKA and BioGen-Analytica as distributors for Poland and Russia, respectively.
Waters named Taiwan-based Chang Gung University’s Health Aging Research Center as a Waters Centers of Innovation Program partner.
Thermo Fisher Scientific announced a memo of understanding for research collaboration with Thailand’s National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, part of the Ministry of the Sciences’ National Science and Technology Development Agency, to identify bioactive metabolites derived from microbes as part of a study of natural products for agricultural applications.
In June, the Thermo Fisher Scientific Proteomics Facility for Disease Target Discovery opened at the Gladstone Institute as part of a collaboration between Thermo, Gladstone, the University of California, San Francisco, and QB3 to accelerate targeted proteomics research.
In July, 908 Devices announced the completion of its Series C funding, bringing its total funding to $29 million.
Agilent Technologies and the Bioprocessing Technology Institute, a research institute of Singapore’s Agency for Science, Technology and Research, announced a collaboration on new approaches to analyzing specific protein-linked sugar compounds. The collaboration will further develop Agilent’s AssayMAP Bravo platform.
Agilent Technologies presented an Agilent Thought Leader Award to Dr. Lawrence J. Lesko, director of the Center for Pharmacometrics and Systems Pharmacology at the University of Florida’s College of Pharmacy in Orlando, in support of his research into preclinical toxicological assessments of new medicines.
Biodesix announced in July that it will begin offering Biognosys’s HRM technology as part of its companion diagnostic development capabilities to develop novel protein assays for the oncology market.
Product Introductions
In May, New England Peptide and the Clinical Proteomic Tumor Analysis Consortium launched Tryptides, a line of peptide stable isotope standards for biomarker discovery. The catalog offers thousands of fragments spanning over one thousand proteins.
In June, Protea Biosciences launched the REDIchip (resonance-enhanced desorption ionization) for matrix-free small molecule quantification using MALDI MS systems. It was invented in the lab of Akos Vertes, PhD, Department of Chemistry, George Washington University, and exclusively licensed to Protea. It is formatted as a disposable, single-use, 96-spot target plate.
In July, Thermo Fisher Scientific introduced the mzCloud, developed in collaboration with HighChem. MzCloud is a search library of high resolution accurate-mass mass spectra constructed from data from Thermo Scientific Orbitrap MS systems.
