Thermo Fisher Scientific is now distributing EDAX’s electron backscatter diffraction systems to complement its Noran System Six X-ray microanalysis system.

Xstream Systems named Blue Ridge X-Ray a distributor of its XT250 ED-XRF for identification of counterfeit drugs in the pharmaceutical supply chain.

Shimadzu Japan introduced the ICPE-9000 ICP emission spectrometer. Available in multitype and sequential models, it features a vacuum spectrometer, which does not require high purity gas for internal gas purging.

SCP Science purchased Conostan, the oil-based standards manufacturing division of ConocoPhillips, in November 2007.

In December 2007, SCP Science was named the exclusive North American distributor for Analytik Jena AG’s mercury analyzers.

In December 2007, Horiba Instruments named Qwest Scientific its distributor for Hawaii, Arizona, Southern Nevada and Southern California for sulfur analyzers.

PerkinElmer will offer Elemental Scientific’s Sample Changer (SC)_FAST sytem with its ELAN ICP-MS and Optical ICP spectrometers.
