BioSearch Technologies Makes Two Acquisitions
BioSearch Technologies stated that the DNA Technology purchase provides it with redundant manufacturing capabilities. BioSearch Technologies plans to invest in VitraBio’s facility to support production of specialty amidites and modified CPGs.
Novato, CA 2/21/13—BioSearch Technologies, a supplier of oligonucleotide-based tools for research and diagnostics, has acquired Danish firm DNA Technology‘s oligonucleotide manufacturing division and German company VitraBio for undisclosed amounts. DNA Technology specializes in the production of modified oligonucleotides. VitraBio manufactures controlled-pore glass (CPG), a DNA/RNA synthesis support material, and worked with BioSearch Technologies prior to 2011. BioSearch Technologies stated that the acquisitions add to its manufacturing capabilities and European presence.
